Aboot
Hi. I am Jenny, in case the URL didn’t tip you off. I have spent many years blogging all over the place and I finally decided to unify the mess.
I am a vocabulary developer for a news organization, and technically a librarian, so excuse my library science dorkery. I am particularly interested in taxonomy creation, and classification systems. I think folksonomy and traditional cataloging would make great tennis partners. I do freelance taxonomy and thesaurus development, metadata consulting, research, and competitive intelligence work. I am also available for personal librarianship, reader’s advisory, and collection development in a private library. I also speak in professional capacities on metadata creation and aggregation and management and hiring of technical workers. Get in touch if interested or check my LinkedIn profile for more info.
I enjoy beer drinking, book/magazine reading, movie watching, excessive lyric dissection, going to music shows, and general internet addiction. I love ridiculously trivial knowledge. I believe in the balance of the Harvard comma.
I live in non-historic (as opposed to the historic part) Jackson Heights near Little India with my pet Roomba Fido and now two Scoobas. That’s in Queens. Yes, mom and dad, that’s still New York City. I am very fond of JH and Queens in general.
I can be found many places on the internet. Most places I use the name jennybento in case you are inclined to googlestalk me, tweet at me, email me, or skype me.
