If you were illiterate and came into a lot of money, wouldn’t you hire a tutor and learn how to read? Or is that just me?

I read the most amazing profile of R. Kelly in a circa-2000 issue of The Source(I think, maybe it was Vibe). I wish I could find it again; I’d send it to you. He gets up at 3 in the morning to play basketball with his posse, and he cruises churches looking for teenage girls (no joke).

If I came into a lot of money *while* illiterate, I must have been doing something right. And with this pride & confidence I certainly would not think I needed to hire a tutor.
But if I came into a lot of money while my teeth were rotten, I would certainly think I needed to replace them with platinum.
