airline woe
Why is it cheaper to fly from NYC to Moline, IL than from NYC to CHICAGO, even when there is a layover IN Chicago. You know, Chicago, busiest airport in the freaking country?
If I just buy the Moline ticket and get off in Chicago will people think I am a terrorist?

That is jacked up. I say buy the Mo ticket and miss your connection.

It can be done, but you can’t check any luggage, and you can’t use the return ticket (assuming you bought round trip). I’ve looked into this myself, though never tried it.

I’m just so happy that one can buy a ticket to Moline for not $onemilliondollars. That’s my stomping grounds (the family farm is north of the Quad Cities), and it makes going home less crunchy on the wallet.
Maybe if you call the airline to book, you can ask about this, and they may have a solution that doesn’t eventually involve Homeland Security.
Or, if you get stuck in Moline, I have some peeps who can help you. (Namely, my mom.)

I don’t know how forgiving my brother and his fiancee would be if I spent the weekend of their wedding in Moline.

I never fly to O’Hare, so I will have to take your word for the expense there. I always use Midway. Midway used to rock because ATA was so fucking cheap. Apparently ATA’s cheapness caught up with it and it folded quickr than something that folds quickly. (It’s late and I am tired, therefore I want to be witty but am physically and mentally incapable.) Now that ATA is gone, all the airlines left are regular airlines that charge real rates. Oh, unless of course I am willing to get to Islip, Long Island. Cause cheap ass flights via Southwest are available there. Gee, I wonder why?

Yeah Midway is not cheap when you count cab fare to my dad’s house. Because no one I know would pick me up there.
I would fly out of ISP, but I wlll only fly into ORD.
