peas
Today I learned to string peas. i did not know you had to string peas. I have never had fresh peas. Is that why string beans are called string? No idea.
Anyway, sugar snap peas that are fresh are amazing. I sauted them with butter, lemon, salt, ginger, white wine, and garlic. Yummity Yum. Sadly they’re all gone, but I don’t know if a bowl of peas is enough of a lunch to justify dessert.
Now if only I knew what to do with kohlrabi….

Re. kohlrabi: I learned to shred it. Any salad dressing you like would be good with it.
We got snap peas too, and just ate them fresh out of a bowl. It’s kind of fun in a dorky childish way to open the shell and then eat each pea out one by one.

I gave up on the kohlrabi. I couldn’t cut it with ANYTHING. I tasted a bit of it, but the one I had was kinda big and just way too tough. Failure.
All I could think was “I just want to make this fucking kohlrabi salad!”

Ha.
It’s too bad about the kohlrabi. I think being in a CSA requires some selective vegetable deaths unfortunately…we just killed a bok choy. The first one was good, but then I was out of ideas for the second.

Yuk I am anti-bok choy! Thankfully we can put some of the veggies in a trade box and get something else.
